TARTINI: Cello Concerto in A Major
HAYDN: Symphony No. 73, "The Hunt"
When Haydn met Mozart in 1781, he was blown away the young composer's audacious talent. "The Hunt" was the first symphony Haydn wrote after their meeting, and it shows. Adventurous rhythms and harmonies cascade through the piece. Insane energy in the finale captures the intensity of the hunt. Tartini's concerto suggests the splendors of 18th century Venice. Bellissimo!
