This delightful prelude to the holiday season opens with Prokofiev's buoyant tribute to the Classical era. Principal tubist Craig Fuller offers a musical portrayal of Jupiter and his lustful hankering for the beautiful nymph, Europa. Tchaikovsky's suite from The Nutcracker brings to musical life the Sugar Plum Fairy, a Waltz of the Flowers, and the lively Chinese, Arabian and Russian character dances.
